ANNUAL MEETING INFORMATION EFC’s annual meeting and officer elections are scheduled for Weds, March 30th 2011 at the Corona de Tucson Fire Department from 5:30-8:00pm. All members of the public are welcome to attend this informative meeting. Please save the date and more information will be forthcoming. District 4 Pima County Supervisor Ray Carroll, a representative from the County Administrator’s office and Pima County Department of Environmental Quality are currently expected to discuss issues related to the former Andrada/Henderson Quarry, now called the Lamb Rock/Wentworth Pit and ongoing permitting activities. An invitation has been extended to Lamb Rock, the current operators of the Wentworth Pit and the Arizona State Mine Inspector’s office as well. 1. CSDP- The Empire-Fagan Coalition is now an official member of the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection. Please take the time to look over their website and learn more about the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan and how it impacts your community. 3. The special interest group, Rosemont Copper, has asked the Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce membership for an endorsement of its proposed copper mine in the Greater Vail area south of Interstate Ten. VPD is an incredibly large community outreach opportunity. Updates on the Army Corps of Engineers permitting process: At this time there are no new updates for the Army Corps of Engineers permitting process for Cal Portland and no new updates on the proposed Seel limestone mine on a 240 acre lease east of the Davidson Canyon. We will keep you updated as more news becomes available. 10. Guest Speaker appearances: We are available to come speak to your local home owners/neighborhood association, civic or school group about conservation and education in the Empire Fagan Valley.
